Dear italian friends, at the and of july Betta Svijet (Betta World) has become a new IBC chapter. Next year, at the beggining of october, we're planning to organize 1st International IBC exhibition in Croatia, where we hope to see lot's of italian breeders.

This year, during AkTer! 2012, we have exhibited some wild types of bettas and 36 show bettas. But this year it was a small competition of breeders and owners.

In next post I'll paste an article about how this year Betta Svijet presented bettas in Croatia, written by our president Ksenija Mijokovic.

Dear Associazione Italiana Betta friends! I'm happy to finaly bring some photos from the last AkTer! exhibition in Zagreb, Croatia!

As some of you may know, AkTer! Festival is a gathering of enthusiasts and an exhibiton of aquaristic and terraristic animals. First and foremost AkTer! is a humanitarian exhibition where goal is to help children in need. Also, emphasis is put on edjucation about those (exotic) animals and how to keep them.

Every year Betta Svijet (Betta World), which is a chapter of IBC, has it's stand, a "corner" as we like to call it - as a part of AkTer! aquaristic section. This year was particularly successful, given the feedback we got from visitors! Our main goal, which is to edjucate people about bettas - was very well accomplished, leaving some of the AkTer! visitors with new knowledge about betta wild species as well as about show bettas.

We had 6 wild betta aquariums with 6  betta species: b. albimarginata, b. mahachai, b. simplex, b. smaragdina, b. picta, b. ocellata. Further more, we had an exhibition shelf with 36 show bettas, plus cca. 20 more showed for sale. We held little betta show amongst those show bettas in 2 categories: visitors choice, and jury choice. We were satisfied to see that visitors quite liked the idea of voting for the pretiest betta, there was all together 892 votes!!

Here are some photos :D
Good location and great photos! :)
Yes, it's a good location, especially for italians. :)

For example, Trieste is 173 km far from Zagreb.
